Digital Marketer to Photographer: The Story Behind My Photography Studio

My photography studio grew out of a previous career in digital marketing and a passion for photography that first emerged in high school—beginning with portraits of my little sister at the beach, and later capturing graduates from my alma mater, The University of Georgia, under The Arch. After earning my Bachelor of Arts degree, I got my first job in digital marketing, gaining valuable skills in branding, website building, and SEO. Acquiring these skills inspired me to start my own business.

Before founding Blue Chip Branding & Headshots, I worked as a marketing contractor and even served as a contract Marketing Director for a law firm. Although I was successful, the high-stress nature of the industry led me to seek a change—especially with my first child on the way. The opportunity came unexpectedly when I came across a stunning studio portrait by a photographer who would eventually become one of my mentors. After a brief phone conversation with that photographer, I realized I could merge my marketing and photography skills into one fulfilling career.
